New FLIs and CMLIs

We are proud to announce the Landscape Institute’s new Fellows and CMLI. A Fellow of the LI is the highest form of Chartered membership, awarded to its innovators, leaders, and ambassadors. CMLI chartered members are qualified landscape architects and landscape professionals. Their chartership with the LI is also a mark of quality and excellence for the profession.

Please congratulate; Kevin Barton, Michael Cowdy, Will Sandy, Dominic Watkins, Anne Jennings, Imogen Wood, Elinor Scarth, Rebecca Knight, Wing Lai, Rebecca Knight Graham Woodward, and Glen Macfarlane on becoming our newest Fellows.

We also welcome two new Chartered Members to the LI through our experienced route to Chartership, John Mills and Lee Heykoop.

Adam White, FLI PPLI, Co-Convenor of the College of Fellows adds a personal welcome to our new Fellows. “I am delighted to see the Landscape Institute (LI) continue to broaden the profession, making the LI a home for all who practice in the landscape sector.

“As Convenor (formally known as Chair) of the College of Fellows I am grateful for this opportunity to congratulate and welcome the new Fellows as they now also join the LI’s College of Fellows.

“The LI have again been actively seeking accomplished industry leaders and experts with significant experience to join our profession. Their diverse skills span urban design, garden design, horticulture, landscape construction, education, landscape science, parks management, landscape policy and regulation, as well as our largest fields of practice: landscape architecture and landscape planning.

“The award of Fellowship of the LI, recognises those who have made a special contribution to the development and promotion of the landscape profession. Many of this latest wave of new Fellows have already spoken to me about their willingness to support the LI and promote the profession.

“Over the past few years the College of Fellows has become more accessible, inclusive and diverse which is wonderful news.

“The College of Fellows is home for all Fellows and acts as an expert knowledge group with myself as Convenor being the main liaison with the Board and CEO, providing a consultative and advisory role aligned with the LI’s plans and strategies.

“The LI is in the process of revamping their Choose Landscape ambassador scheme with a key aim to support the next generation of landscape professionals. The Fellows and the College of Fellows are expected to play a key in role in this mission during 2023.”

Adam finishes with an invitation, “If you have professional expertise, have delivered a substantial and outstanding body of work and have personal qualities and integrity in line with the LI Code of Practice then maybe you too should consider applying for LI Fellowship.”
