The University of Greenwich Green Roofs and Living Walls Centre and Department of Architecture and Landscape have announced their London conference, ABC: Activating Biophilic Cities.

Taking place on 4-5 September 2018, the conference aims to bring together academics, built environment professionals – architects, planners, landscape professionals, environmental specialists and more – education professionals, and health professionals. The event will consist of keynote addresses and peer-reviewed papers on the principles and practice of biophilic design. Themed workshops will inform a new ‘Biophilic City Framework’.

The University has invited proposals for oral papers and posters from academics and practitioners. Focusing on the integration of natural elements into the environments in which we live, work and play, papers are welcome on the following themes:

  • planning
  • urban design
  • architecture
  • landscape practice
  • interior design
  • health and education
