Hampshire-based wildflower specialists, Wildflower Turf Ltd, are lending their expertise to next month’s Greener Recovery Festival.

The virtual festival, hosted by the Landscape Institute, will be held over five days in March and is also being sponsored by Wildflower Turf Ltd.

Aimed at built environment professionals, the Greener Recovery festival will welcome a diverse and international audience on an accessible online platform, with Rebecca Pow, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Defra, giving the keynote speech.

Topics will range from climate to biodiversity action, with key discussions centreing on net zero, environmental net gain, adaptation, and natural capital accounting.

Of particular interest to attendees will be a session on 26 March 2021 (10.00-11.00am GMT) facilitated by author, industry leader and Managing Director of Wildflower Turf Ltd, James Hewetson-Brown.

The masterclass, titled, Developing species rich spaces: little known ways of addressing carbon, pollution and biodiversity issues, will bring together prominent experts Dr Matthew Tallis (Lecturer, University Centre Sparsholt), Matt Pitts (Meadow Advisor, Plantlife), and Dr Joe Franklin (Senior Consultant, AECOM).

The expert panel will deliver insight into how species-rich spaces can help contribute the building blocks to addressing some of our biggest environmental threats, such as climate change, health, and biodiversity loss.

In this informative and thought-provoking session, attendees will also learn how species-rich spaces have the potential for sequestering carbon better than many alternative forms of planting; how they assist with protecting our health; and how species-rich spaces are a rapid way of enhancing or reintroducing better biodiversity.

The Greener Recovery Festival will be held on 22-26 March (9.00am-1.00pm) and registration is available via Eventbrite:
