Unpaid position is chance to shape the gardens’ future
The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew is again advertising for a trustee with expertise in horticulture, landscape and/or architecture, after an attempt to fill the vacancy earlier this year was unsuccessful.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate:
- ‘a knowledge of and commitment to the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew and support of its purpose, values and strategic direction;
- ‘the ability to think strategically, deliver change and improvements and develop a long term organisational vision; and
- ‘the ability to build collaborative relationships and command the confidence of ministers, fellow board members, executive directors, employees and stakeholders.’
The role requires a commitment of roughly 10–12 days a year, including attending board meetings at Kew or Wakehurst Place. This is an unpaid position, but travel expenses and accommodation will be reimbursed.
