The LI is supporting Groundwork London and Parks for London in the creation of a new Green Space Skills Hub.

Part of the Mayor’s Academies Programme (MAP), the Hub brings together a partnership of leading green space organisations to:

  • Upskill the London green space sector, equipping it to deliver for climate, biodiversity, and public health
  • Create a workforce that’s truly reflective of London’s diversity
  • Secure good work for Londoners hardest hit by the pandemic, and support London’s economic recovery
  • Develop an industry-leading consortium of green space employers and training providers

The Hub will also help deliver the commitments of the London Green Spaces Commission and support the Mayor’s vision for London as the world’s first National Park City. Its work will go beyond traditional parks and formal spaces to include housing estates, verges, street space, green roofs, and anywhere else that is or can be green!

Spanning water management, housing, highways, construction, design, and more, the Green Space Skills Hub will help transform the parks and green space workforce in London.
