As part of a new Landscape Advisory Panel, leading members of the LI will support Natural England in delivering the best possible benefits from – and for – England’s protected landscapes.
Natural England has announced the assembly of a new Natural England Landscape Advisory Panel (NELAP).
Following the government’s response to the Glover review of protected landscapes earlier this month, the Panel met for the first time on Thursday 27 January 2022. The NELAP will provide expert independent advice to Natural England in its role as the government’s statutory landscape advisor and help realise the vision of a beautiful, biodiverse, and resilient network of protected landscapes in England.
The panel comprises experts in landscape academia and practice from across designated and non-designated landscapes; urban landscapes; biodiversity; the landowning community; environmental heritage; social science; outreach and engagement; and communications.
The LI is particularly delighted that four leading Landscape Institute (LI) members have joined the panel:
- Sarah Bryan CMLI, Chief Executive of Exmoor National Park Authority
- Sally Marsh FLI, Director of High Weald AONB Partnership
- Professor Carys Swanwick Hon. FLI, former Director at LUC and former Head of Landscape at the University of Sheffield
- Professor Kathryn Moore PPLI, Director of think tank WMNP Lab
