In autumn, the Landscape Institute (LI) will publish a special edition of Landscape, the journal of the Landscape Institute. Guest-edited by LI Immediate Past President Jane Findlay, the edition will draw inspiration from the achievements of LI co-founder and past president Brenda Colvin, who founded her practice 100 years ago. The edition will also link to a research project led by Dr Luca Csepeley-Knorr from Manchester Metropolitan University, Women of the Welfare Landscape.

Contents will include an update on the research project; interviews and round table events with a variety of LI members; a report on gender and career progression; updates on research projects including women and public safety; and an analysis of why so few women landscape architects have received formal recognition through Blue Plaques.

As part of this edition, we’re calling for entries in answer to the following question:

What would the world of landscape look like if designed, managed and planned by women?

We’re seeking a range of short articles. If you’d like to be considered, please write a 150-word summary and send by Friday 29 July to president@landscapeinstitute.org (copied to paul.lincoln@landscapeinstitute.org).
