This programme is closely aligned both with our New Ways of Working, which aims to make the LI more collaborative, open, and inclusive, and with our current strategic priorities of People, Membership, and Systems, which put our members at the heart of everything we do.

    Digital infrastructure for today’s world

The LI is a future-orientated organisation, striving towards agility, innovation, and responsiveness, to help members and communities deliver more sustainable methods for living and working. In order to support our members in this work, it is essential that we have a functional, modern digital ecosystem, which is in line with the professional standards of today, and adds value to the LI experience for all.

Our current systems are showing their age, falling short of being fit for purpose. As a service-led organisation, adapting to these changes by investing in appropriate digital infrastructure is paramount.

Our new digital home will provide a seamless customer experience, offering simple, accessible member self-service and effective communications and engagement, unlocking value for members, staff and other stakeholders.

    Scope of work

Project Kestrel will enhance our services by integrating our digital operations into one ecosystem, with key aspects including:

    • Member services such as accreditation, technical guidance, and CPD
    • Member self-services such as renewals, booking events, and CPD management
    • Member portal
    • Website
    • Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system and case management
    • Content Management System (CMS)

To carry out this important programme of work, we’ll be working with our chosen technology partner, oomi

“We look forward to partnering with oomi in our IT transformation journey. Their expertise and sector pedigree speaks for itself and will help to establish a modern and inclusive digital home for the LI’s membership and staff team.”

    – Robert Hughes, Acting CEO, Landscape Institute.

“Project Kestrel will ensure better communications and engagement with our members, staff and stakeholders, leveraging improvements for an efficient and dynamic operation.”

    – Neelam Sheemar, Head of Marketing, Communications and Events, Landscape Institute.

“It’s fantastic to have the opportunity to work with such a prestigious organisation such as the Landscape Institute. As long-term suppliers to the membership sector, we know how important a great working relationship is…and we look forward to building on the partnership that we have already established with the Institute.”

    – Joel Trotman, Director of Sales, oomi.

    Stay connected

Throughout 2024, we will be engaging with members on Project Kestrel – from project kick off, through to launch.

We’ll be issuing updates on progress throughout the process, including opportunities to get involved and have a say. Stay tuned through our New Ways of Working page.

Project Kestrel is set to transform the efficiency and experience of working with the LI, and we welcome input from all our members and partners as we embark on this important programme of work.
